Obituary: Robert C. "Bob" Mahoney, 86, WWII Veteran

Robert C. "Bob" Mahoney, 86, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 after a short illness. Bob was the beloved husband of Grace (Harrington) Mahoney. They were happily married for 64 wonderful years and were each other’s best friends.

Bob leaves a son, John Mahoney of Mashpee, MA, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Cheryl Mahoney of Scituate, RI and his beautiful granddaughter Erin Mahoney of New York City. Bob was pre-deceased by his brothers George, Jack and William Mahoney. 

Bob was a proud WW-II veteran serving in the Navy. After the Navy, Bob spent his entire work career in the transportation industry. 

Bob and Grace loved the beach, spending summers at their cottage in Bourne, MA and time in St. Petersburg, FL. Bob loved his garden, family trips, Twin Oaks and visiting historical war memorials. His most treasured times were those spent with family and friends. He will be missed for his generosity, sense of humor and kindness to all. 

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr., Cranston at 9 a.m. 
Burial with military honors will be at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS are Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
