Obituary: Roy E. Clevenger

Roy E. Clevenger, 84 of Cranston, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence.

Roy E. Clevenger, 84 of Cranston, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence.

He was the beloved husband of the late Betty (Gates) Clevenger. Roy was born in South Carolina, a son of the late Rev. James Clevenger and Nancy (Gray) Clevenger. Mr. Clevenger was employed as a supervisor at Quonset Point and Electric Boat for 20 years until his retirement. He was also a WW II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his loving children, Linda Colannino and Richard Clevenger both of Cranston , his dear siblings, Lillie Mae Nix, Gail wood, Juanita Simpson all of South Carolina, his cherished grandchildren, Michael DePalma, Sean Bales , Jennifer Buonanno, and Karen Colannino and 2 great grandchildren. He was also the father of late Nancy Bales, grandfather of late Aaron Bales and brother of the late John, Cleophus, Clarence and Agnes Clevenger, Dorothy McClain and Nellie Hughes.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service to be held on Thursday at 11 am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by interment and military honors to be held in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday 10-11am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
