Obituary: Stella Helene (Reinola) D'Aquila, 89

Stella Helene (Reinola) D'Aquila, 89, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Cedar Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cranston.

She was the beloved wife of fifty-four years to the late Pasco F. D’Aquila.

Born in Tartu, Estonia she was the daughter of the late Col. Johannes and Vera (Nikitin) Reinola. Stella went to school in Tallinn Estonia, French Lyceum. In Germany she studied Dental Medicine at Phillips University. She had worked at the former Shepard’s Dept. Store, General Electric mono watt, NAS Quonset Point Supply Dept. 1975-1986, Naval Hospital Sub. Med. Center, Groton, CT, and as the Supervisor of Cytology Dept. 1987-1998 at Women and Infants Hospital as a diagnostic Cytotechnologist.   

She was a member of ASCP and ASC. Stella was a member of the Opera Guild, International Women’s Club, Estonia Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Estonian Society, both of CT, Boston Estonian Society and St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Providence. Everyone who knew Stella admired her for her courage during difficult times, her caring personality, her love for life and the beauty of nature.

She is survived by relatives in Europe and many dear friends near and far. 

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 at Swan Point Cemetery in the Historic Swan Point Cemetery Chapel, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence. VISITING HOUR from 10-11a.m. in the chapel. Her graveside committal will follow in the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, Dream Foundation, 2374 Post Road, Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886.
