Obituary: Vincenzo "Jimmy" Maddalena, 94

Vincenzo "Jimmy" Maddalena, 94, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at home. He was the husband of the late Frances (Pizzi) Maddalena. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Michael and Rosa (Gallo) Maddalena. 

He was a WW-II U.S. Army veteran. Jimmy worked at General Dynamics at Quonset Point for 10 years and the A&P Supermarkets for over 25 years. He was a lifelong avid Red Sox fan and loved singing and playing his guitar.

He is survived by his children, Michael Maddalena and his wife Joyce of Hope, James Maddalena with whom he lived in Cranston and Frances Hiltermann and her husband Roy of Cranston. He was the grandfather of Jessica, Jennifer, Kimberly and Daniel; great- grandfather of Zachary and Robert; and brother of Lorenzo Maddalena of CA, Elda Cuniff of Cranston and the late Anthony, Rosalie, Laura and Joseph. 

His funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m. VISITING HOURS are FRIDAY MORNING from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
