Obituary: Virginia (Tronni) Menna, 85

Virginia (Tronni) Menna, 85, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Elio P. Menna.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Benedetta (Franco) Tronni. Virginia was a seamstress for Decorators Sewing Shop in Johnston for forty-five years before retiring in 2013 due to illness. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards with her sisters, sewing, baking, and reading.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Joyce M. Gentile and her husband Michael of Warwick, and Elaine M. Roch of Coventry. Virginia was the mother-in-law of the late Gregory Roch. She was the cherished grandmother of seven and the great-grandmother of seven, and was affectionately known to them as “Poochie”. Virginia was the sister of  Elizabeth Martini of Barrington, Norma Faraone of Cranston, and the late Carlo Tronni, Maria Menna,  Renato “Ronnie” Tronni, and Eugene Tronni.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew’s Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday morning 8:30-10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
