Obituary: Vito A. Calamita

Vito A. Calamita, 51, of Robinson Way, West Warwick, RI, formerly of Preston Dr., Cranston, RI, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Kent Hospital in Warwick.

Vito A. Calamita, 51, of Robinson Way, West Warwick, RI, formerly of Preston Dr., Cranston, RI, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Kent Hospital in Warwick.  Born in Bitonto, Italy, he was the devoted son of Maria Savina (Lacetera) Calamita of Jersey City, NJ and the late Giacomo Calamita.

Vito was a boiler operator for the U.S. Government at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Providence.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Conyngham and was a Board Member and baseball coach for 15 years of the North End Wanskuck Little League.

Besides his mother, he was the loving companion of Deborah Duke of West Warwick; devoted father of Antoinette Beckham of Greenville, SC and Arcangela Calamita of Cranston; loving grandfather of Manson Brown, Antonio Calamita, Adrianna Beckham and Kaylee Beckham; dear brother of Arcangelo Calamita and his wife Carmela of Freehold, NJ; loving uncle of his twin nieces Savina and Valentina and nephew Giacomo Calamita; and loving nephew of Nick Calamito of Bronx, NY and Nella Calamita of Scotch Plains, NJ.

VISITING HOURS to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Wednesday, December 5th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.

Interment will take place in New Jersey.
