Help Pass E-Verify for a better RI.

Let’s help RI’s most needy families find decent work.  Tell your Reps (http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/Email/RepEmailListDistrict.asp) and Senators (http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/Email/SenEmailListDistrict.asp) to vote for E-Verify to make jobs available to our citizens and legal immigrants.  Rhode Island's income inequality has a lot to do with its' appetite for immigrants, legal or not. We have an over-population of lower skilled workers that is fueled by this appetite. With that over-population comes expected behavior. Employers hire cheaper workers and provide fewer benefits and reduce spending on capital improvement. Lower incomes produce a demand for more social services. The cycle continues. I believe that we in RI are facing a growing problem with Balkanization fueled by illegal immigration. What to do? E-Verify would reduce the practice of hiring Illegal Immigrants. This would help both the legal immigrants and the so-called native population. We need to use common sense and stop the non-sense. Our elected leaders continually talk about jobs, jobs, jobs. Yet they have bent over backwards to aid and abet the illegal alien community grow and prosper in Rhode Island. Gina Raimondo now wants give illegal aliens driver's licenses so they can more easily get to work. Yes, that would be aiding and abetting illegal aliens. Perhaps U.S. Attorney Peter Nerohna might be interested? Nah, didn’t think so. This attitude perpetuates and amplifies our income equality.

This article hits the bulls eye on whats going on in RI & has been for some time. Both parties are to blame. This is the only way they can justify an increase in the state budget every year is to declare that they are helping the poor/illegals.This provides more monies for their pet projects, feeding their faces & all the other perks they get. Everything is free in RI while taxpayers foot the bill.

After the elections they only hear from lobbyists. If all who post here will contact their reps, maybe we will be heard. Let's give it a shot! We've everything to gain!

RTC - You sound like a serious & informed voter. Congrats! Hope you will accept this opportunity to lobby your electeds now that they are in office. They are hearing from the "other side" constantly. Thanks for your citizenship!
