New trash collection

In our new tax bill, Mayor Fung states that our new automated collection program will save more than $130,000. Is that all? How much did the new barrels cost and how many people lost their jobs for this small savings. Is it per year or what? My daughter lives in Warwick and they have automated collection. When they have a large item that will not fit in the barrel, they call and a truck is sent out at NO COST to the taxpayer!! Mayor Fung's new program will cost taxpayers at least $18 per item that will not fit in the barrels!! Thank you Mayor Fung!

You know what she means Chris. No additional fees. Funny though the new figure of $130,000 is not the amount the administration, and Public Works have been touting since the beginning: Posted by Mark Schieldrop (Editor)February 22, 2014 at 06:24am "New Waste Contract Will Save City $200,000 Along with new 65-gallon trash and recycling carts that will be distributed to all 28,000 residences in Cranston, the new contract with Waste Management will save the city about $200,000 in the short term, according to a report by Ken Mason, director of public works." Oh thats right. We have to create a job to the tune of $70,000 a year to oversee the charade. I forgot. One other question I do not know the answer to... Is this saving automatic or is the savings based on assumptions of anticipated requests for bulk waste pickup?

I don't trust him at all because his ancestors invented the kamikaze attack. They will stop at nothing to hold the pacific rim.

How much is it to get additional trash and recycling barrels? The ones delivered to our home are not large at all! The Warwick barrels seem twice the size...even our trash is being down sized?
