Broad Street Accident under Investigation
Crews had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver from the mangled, rolled-over car.
One person was trapped in a car after a serious accident on Broad Street in Edgewood early this morning and it took almost an hour for rescue crews to free the driver from the badly-damaged vehicle.
Few details are available, but witnesses said the car, a Toyota, was rolled over near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Broad Street after 1 a.m. Debris was scattered all over the road and the Toyota was rendered a twisted, smashed ruin.
Surrounding departments were told to be on the lookout for a white car with damage relating to the crash.
The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
