Car Crashes into Building after Chase

The owners of Rainbow Bakery are dealing with damage to their business after a car crashed into the building at the end of a police chase last night.

A car chase that started in Providence ended in Cranston last night after the driver being pursued struck another vehicle and crashed into a building.

Police have not released any details about the incident as of this morning.

Witnesses said police were chasing a silver car that struck a black sedan before it crashed into Rainbow Bakery on Reservoir Ave.

The suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile, reportedly fled on foot. He was captured a short time later. The driver of the black car was taken to the hospital. A Providence Police officer also reportedly suffered injuries.
