Cranston Man Charged with Cocaine Trafficking

A Cranston man is being held without bail in Massachusetts after he and another man were stopped on Interstate 95 and a State Trooper found $70,000 worth of cocaine and nearly $20,000 cash in the car.

Police said Harry Collazo, 30, of Cranston and an unidentified man were arrested on Sunday after they were stopped by Trooper Jason Morse for driving erratically.

Both men appeared nervous during the traffic stop and Morse soon saw a large amount of cash on the floor in the back of the car. He soon found a secret compartment under the floor that held the cocaine and more cash.

Police said the driver identified himself as Jonathan Pagan, 21, but police said that is not who he is. Officials from the Immigration Customs Enforcement agency have reportedly been notified to investigate whether the men are here legally.

Collazzo was ordered held without bail due to a failure to appear charge in Massachusetts on charges of cocaine trafficking and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

He now faces new charges of cocaine trafficking and conspiracy to violate drug laws as well as providing police a false name.

Both men pleaded innocent to the new charges before being ordered held without bail. They return to court on Nov. 1.
