Cranston Man Charged with Rape, Assault

Police said Johan Machuca, 27, of 56 Waterman Ave., raped a woman and threatened to kill her.

A 27-year-old Cranston man is being held without bail after being charged with rape, felony domestic assault and failure to relinquish a telephone, Cranston Police said.

Johan Machuca, of 56 Waterman Ave., reportedly raped the woman in his apartment and then assaulted her and threatened to kill her if she called police, the Providence Journal reported.

The victim knew her attacker.

Machuca was arraigned on Tuesday and will return to court on Dec. 4 for a status conference and Jan. 29 for a prearraignment disposition conference, court records show.

CransDone is not too far off the mark. here is no official 56 Waterman on Vision Appraisal so it must be an illegal apartment. The absentee landlords on this street have a profound ignorance of prescreening their tenants. There is a squatter living in one house w/o electricity, heat or water. There is a zoo fraternity living in another that park their out of state cars on the street all night. It was only a few years ago when the Projo homes section did an article on the neighborhood with a picture of Waterman that hi-lited its great qualities, Times are changing.

CranstDone I don't know where you get your information from but that is a good neighborhood. I have friends and family who live there. What dump do you come from? Jenny read the first paragraph of the article. He was charged

The victim knew her attacker. This was not a random act that happened to occur on this street because the neighborhood is bad. What other crimes have been reported there?
