Cranston Man Indicted on Robbery, Marijuana Charges

Carl Bryant was indicted by the Providence County Grand Jury today.

The Providence County Grand Jury today handed down a two-count indictment charging Carl Bryant, 25, of 145 Arnold St., Cranston, with first-degree robbery and one count of marijuana possession.

Bryant is alleged to have robbed a person in Providence on Feb. 2 and on Feb. 3, possessed marijuana. He had previously been convicted of possession with intent to deliver in Maryland in 2007.

Bryant is being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions. He will be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on Aug. 22.

Bryant also allegedly was involved in a series of armed robberies in Cranston in December and January where he and another suspect responded to craigslist ads looking to buy cell phone parts and iPads, robbing the victims after meeting them at various locations.
