Cranston Man, Pawtucket Teacher Accused of Assaulting Student
A Cranston man is accused of grabbing a boy, lifting him off the floor and yelling at him as he held him pinned against a wall.
A Cranston man who teaches at Slater Jr. High School in Pawtucket is facing charges of simple assault for allegedly physically assaulting a student at the school last week.
Pawtucket Police said Richard C. Koster, 49, of Warren Ave., is accused of grabbing a boy, lifting him off the floor and yelling at him as he held him pinned against a wall.
Police got an arrest warrant after an investigation and Koster turned himself into police Thursday morning.
He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance after being arraigned in District Court.
Police said a parent reported the incident.
