Cranston Storm Central: No School, Snow Piling Up

The parking ban that went into effect yesterday will be lifted at noon today.

This story well be updated with more closings and cancellations for the duration of the storm, so be sure to check it regularly, especially when the flakes start to fall.

Closings and Cancellations:

  • Trash Pickup: No trash pickup Wednesday. Thursday pickup serves Tuesday customers. Pickup delayed two days due to Monday holiday.
  • Cranston School District: No classes on Wednesday. School Committee meeting cancelled, rescheduled to Jan. 27. no after-school activities.
  • Scottish Rite: Activities cancelled. Dinner cancelled on Tuesday.
  • Holy Apostles Church: no CCD classes.
  • St. Mark: Religious Ed. classes cancelled Tuesday. Evening activities cancelled.
  • Cranston Career and Technical Center: Open House rescheduled to Jan. 23.
  • Paul Mitchell School: Closed Tuesday evening. 
  • Cranston Child Development Center: Opening at 10 a.m.
  • Faith Nursery School: Closed Wednesday
  • Gingerbread House Preschool: Closing at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
  • Kid's Kingdom: Closed Wednesday.
  • CCAP: All sites closed at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Reopen at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
  • Cranston Public Library: All locations closing at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
  • Cranston Senior Center: Closed Wednesday. No meals, programs or TransVan.
  • Hope Alzheimer's Center: Closed Wednesday.
  • RI Rehabilitation Center: Will open at 9 a.m.
  • Anthony Barone MD ENT Allergy: Closed Wednesday
  • Dr. Ellen Frankel: Office opens at noon Wednesday
  • McLaughlin & Moran: No Budweiser deliveries Wednesday
  • MS Dream Center: Closed Wednesday
  • A Child's University: Closed Wednesday
  • Little Shepherd School: Closed Wednesday
  • ACI: All visits cancelled through 1 p.m. Wednesday.
  • To The Pointe Performing Arts: All afternoon classes cancelled Tuesday.

yes a parking ban-----but will the police enforce it! Just once I would like my street plowed !

Why haven't the police gone around and MADE cars parked on side streets move? This is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Streets won't/can't get plowed, and it is a danger to other vehicles! COME ON, POLICE!!!
