Heavy Rains Brings Typical Flooding to Cranston

A band of strong storms brought more than an inch-and-a-half to Cranston in less than an hour Friday afternoon, causing low-lying spots to flood.

When it rains, it pours, and when it really pours, Cranston floods.

A band of strong storms brought more than an inch-and-a-half to Cranston in less than an hour Friday afternoon, causing low-lying spots to flood.

One location in particular that is prone to flooding is the Wilbur Avenue bridge in Oaklawn.

Two people were reportedly rescued from a car that was submerged by the floodwaters after the driver apparently thought the rushing water could be navigated.

Check out this video clip of an NBC10 viewer narrating the scene earlier on Friday.
