Help Cranston Police Nab These Box Truck Car Thieves

Do you recognize these suspected auto thieves? Cranston Police are trying to crack a case in which they made off with the truck and $2,000 worth of tools.

Cranston Police are on the lookout for a pair of car thieves who stole a box truck from Malone Plumbing and Heating earlier this month — along with $2,000 worth of tools contained in the truck.

Police said two men pulled into the parking lot of the business in a dark blue Dodge minivan with polished five-spoke mag wheels.

The first suspect, described as a skinny male with a beard, got out of the passenger side of the van and tried to get through the door to the business.

He then is seen on video breaking into a box truck through the passenger side door.

A second man, described as a "visibly larger suspect," police said, got into the box truck and stole it by backing out of the lot and driving off.

The skinnier of the two reportedly got back into the minivan and followed.

Police said the stolen truck was located the next day in Providence's west end. The tools and items in the truck were gone.

If you have any information, call Cranston Police at 401-942-2211 ext. 5047. Det. John Cardone is leading the investigation.
