A man in his early 30s is dead after a motorcycle crash on Pontiac Avenue just south of Route 37 yesterday afternoon.
Police said the matter remains under investigation but "witness accounts and evidence at the scene point to speed as a contributing factor."
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Police have not released the name of the man pending notification of family members.
The crash is being investigated by the Cranston Police, Traffic, BCI and Patrol Divisions along with assistance by the Rhode Island State Police.
