Was he a resident there?? These are trying times. Iffff he jumped he must have been in dire straights to do that. I don't even know this man and I am grieving for him. I only wish he could have asked for some help if he was that depressed. I feel bad for the family he may have left behind and send my deepest sympathy for them.

Many of these housing complexes have tenants who have been inadequately placed. They rent the apartments out to individuals who have severe cognitive disabilities endangering themselves and other residents. Many are chronic smokers, heavy drinkers, and overly self medicated. They need a more restricted environment such as a group home or assisted living complex.. The management corporations rent these units, mostly one bedroom, to elderly, physically disabled, physiologically impaired tenants for 800 1,000 a month. The funding comes from various state bonds or federal grants.Government housing like HUD or SECTION VIII funding.Tenants only pay 1/3 of their SSI or SSDI checks, which is about 200 - 400 a month. John.

When will they identify the man? I have a friend who lives there, who seemed to be very depressed the last time I saw him. He's kind of disappeared.

The report at least in here seems to be conflicting as to whether he jumped or fell, but my gut is telling me he jumped. What a horrible way to go so you can tell he must have been very depressed if that was a better alternative at that time for him. I can't get him out of my mind. Feel sooooo bad.

Sadly people give up as they have no one to turn to for help etc...Forget the DHS they kick you to the curb unless you make all the noise you can! The USA is in so much trouble and it will get worse before better! Let's hope we can all live under a peaceful umbrella soon.

Knew this man very well and his wife.. Very sweet people and he was a very smart man he must have been very depressed he wasn't disabled. My sympathy goes to his loving wife.. xoxoxo R.I.P.

jane doe, I thought his wife was deceased and that's what caused his depression. Very very sad.

No Ginny his wife is very much alive she is younger than him and is a good friend. She is in shock and needs all the support she can get. We are all in shock this is a very well know man who was a professional until retirement. It is such a horrible story.

This had nothing to do with housing or DHS or HUD it was a personal matter. The system works if it is used properly. Let's just focus and pray for the family please. Thank You

@John a little empathy would be nice instead of talking and focus on alcoholics, the mentally disbaled, smokers which this man was NONE of those. Get a grip and a heart while your at it....
