Map of Tickets Appears to Support Councilmens' Claims

Cranston Councilmen Steve Stycos and Paul Archetto claim they were the target of an intimidation effort with a ticket blitz by police immediately after they rejected a new police contract during a Nov. 14 Finance Committee meeting.

According to this map of addresses where tickets were issued in the hours following the contract vote, there appears to be plausible evidence to support those claims.

The map was put together by an astute Patch Reader who plotted every address reported to have been ticketed between 1 and 5 a.m. on Nov. 15. He wished to remain anonymous.

"If you plot the police ticketing data from the overnight period. . .a very distinct pattern emerges," he said in an e-mail message. "The tickets were all given in a remarkably tight cluster around the home addresses of the 2 city council members."

Councilmen Stycos and Archetto's addresses are marked in green.
