Customers at Mr. Clean Laundromat on Phenix Avenue got a jolt Thursday morning after an elderly driver accidentally backed into the the building.
Nobody was hurt in the crash and the building, located in Phenix Plaza, wasn't seriously damaged.
The city's building inspector was in the area when the accident happened and was at the scene by the time police arrived. Police said the driver, 75, meant to go forwards but accidentally backed up.
Witnesses told WPRI that the crash was scary, but everyone was thankful nobody was hurt. The Laundromat didn't have to close because of the crash.
