I ran into this scene on my way into work this morning - it scared the living daylight out of me! However, I was relieved to hear the details of the accident weren't nearly as bad as I had initially suspected. It seemed as though every policeman on duty at 6:30am was present - I noticed at least 5 Cranston police cars blocking Reservoir, and several more down Park (not to mention the abundance of fire/rescue crews). I literally thought it was a fatality! I mean THANK GOD it wasn't and that the parties involved only suffered non life-threatening injuries - but - was all that presence really necessary for such a semi-minor incident? I can't help but wonder if this was just a civilian-to-civilian accident, would it have created such a stir?
