Pedestrian Struck on Narragansett Boulevard

A man walking westbound across Narragansett Boulevard was struck and seriously injured by a car last night around 8 p.m., police said.

Lt. Alan Loiselle of the Cranston Police Department said the investigation so far shows the pedestrian was struck by a car heading south near the intersection of Narragansett Boulevard and Aurora Avenue.

The pedestrian, identified as an adult male in his early 50s, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries. No charges have been filed by police against the driver, who was behind the wheel of a 1998 Toyota Camry and remained at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
