Person of Interest in Shooting Turns Himself In

No charges have been filed but Jones remains a person of interest and the investigation is ongoing.

General Jones, 27, who was identified by Cranston Police as a person of interest in Tuesday's broad-daylight shooting on Reservoir Ave., has turned himself in.

Cranston Police Major Robert W. Ryan said Jones heard his name late this morning on the radio in a report about the shooting and turned himself during the police.

Police put out an alert yesterday notifying the public that Jones was a person of interest in the shooting and to be on the lookout for his 2006 white Buick Lucerene.

Police now say that the shots were fire from Jones' Buick and it is being held at Cranston Police Headquarters for processing.

Police said they were able to ascertain the location of the Buick after talking to Jones who has not been charged but remains a person of interest in the shooting incident "but is no longer wanted by police," Ryan said.

The incident remains under investigation and is ongoing.
