Police: Home Invasion Victim was Bound with Duct Tape

Cranston Police said a 25-year-old Milton Avenue man was pistol-whipped and bound with duct tape by two people at around 2:30 Sunday morning and police expect to be making arrests soon.

Cranston Police Major Robert W. Ryan said that the first-floor resident of the house at 14 Milton Avenue reported that two individuals forced their way into his apartment and struck him in the head and face with a pistol before he was bound with duct tape.

The victim, who was eventually treated for injuries at the scene, was able to free himself after 30 minutes. He then contacted the second-floor residents who then called police.

The suspects reportedly stole cash, a firearm, video games and sneakers from the apartment and fled the scene in a gold Nissan Maxima.

"It is evident this was not a random act because the victim stated that one of the individuals involved is known to him because they were formerly co-workers," Ryan said.

The other suspect was not known to the victim.

The Cranston Police Bureau of Criminal Identification processed the scene and detectives are following several leads.

Police expect to give an update with arrests.
