Police ID Motorcycle Crash Victim as 22-Year-Old Cranston Man

The crash happened in front of 850 Wellington Ave., police said. Crews from both the Cranston Police and Fire Departments responded to the crash.

The motorcyclist who died in a crash Friday night on Wellington Avenue has been identified by police as 22-year-old Ryan Rocha of Cranston.

Police said Rocha lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a utility pole at around 9:25 p.m.

Rocha was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"The investigation is pending and being investigated by certified accident reconstructionists from the Cranston Police Department,"  Lt. Matthew C. Moynihan said in a release.

On Facebook, Rocha's love of of motorcycle riding was evident with numerous photos of his Suzuki posted to his page.

He was an employee of Valvoline in Cranston.
