Police ID Pedestrian Hit by Car in Edgewood, No Charges for Driver

The Cranston man hit by a car while crossing Narragansett Boulevard Tuesday night has been identified by police as David Sifuentes, 55, of Cranston.

Police said Sifuentes was was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The accident happened just before 8 p.m. when Sifuentes was struck by a white Toyota Camry driven by a 51-year-old Cranston man whose identification has been withheld. 

The police traffic unit and Bureau of Criminal Identification conducted an accident reconstruction and so far, no charges have been brought against the driver. The accident remains under investigation, said Cranston Police Major Robert W. Ryan.

Police reports show the driver remained at the scene after the accident.
