Police Investigating Hillwood Street Drive-By Shooting

Cranston Police are investigating a drive by shooting on Hillwood Street Thursday night.

Police said four to five shots were fired at the house at 43 Hilwood Street from a car described by witnesses as a green station wagon.

People were home at the time of the shooting, but nobody was injured and no arrests have been made yet, said Cranston Police Major Robert W. Ryan.

Police said the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. The Cranston Police Bureau of Criminal Identification Unit responded to the scene and determined that three of the shots penetrated the house through a front window. Shell casings were found at the scene that indicated a small caliber weapon was used.

Police canvassed the surrounding area to interview witnesses and potentially find surveillance video that might have captured the suspect car.

The incident remains under investigation.
