Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

Suspect still at large.

Cranston Police are engaged in a manhunt after a man robbed Ocean State Market on Dyer Avenue this afternoon.

Cranston Police Major Robert W. Ryan said a man walked into the market at 341 Dyer Ave. and demanded money, brandishing a black handgun.

Police described the suspect as a black male, standing about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a slim build.

The suspect was wearing a makeshift mask that appeared to be a do-rag that was pulled over his face.

The suspect fled the store on foot, heading northbound on Dyer Avenue. 

Witnesses last saw him in the area of Farmington Avenue.

The suspect is still at large and officers are actively interviewing witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood to see if any security cameras nearby caught the suspect.
