Updated: Pontiac Ave. Shell Hit by Armed Robbers

Cranston Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Pontiac Avenue Shell gas station early this morning.

Two suspects remain at large and detectives are coordinating with other jurisdictions "where like robberies have occurred," said Cranston Police Chief Col. Marco Palombo Jr. 

Few otherdetails were available early this morning, but reports indicate the store was robbed by two men dressed in black who displayed a firearm.

The suspects were the subject of a widespread search by area police. The men reportedly crashed on Route 95 and fled on foot.
