Reservoir Ave. Shell Robbed

Cranston Police are investigating an apparent robbery at the Shell gas station on Reservoir Avenue.

The robbery happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday and police were at the scene collecting evidence and investigating through the morning.

It's the fourth robbery to hit Cranston in recent weeks. The Mobil on Elmwood Avenue was robbed by a man and woman in late December, the Shell on Pontiac Avenue was robbed by two men on Jan. 4 and the Taco Bell on Cranston Street was robbed by a man who brazenly went behind the counter and took a cash drawer on Jan. 6.

In the Pontiac Avenue Shell incident, police have arrested one man but another remains at large.

More details will be posted as they become available.

Cranston is going to hell. Abandoned and burnt out houses not being taken care of. Residents who don't shovel their sidewalks or even put away their trash barrels! And now continual robberies?! And the government wants to stiffen gun control! People can no longer protect themselves and their families and property!

After growing up and living in Cransron for 35 years I finally sold my house and moved. Cranston is going to hell!!! Back 30 years ago it was a great city to live in. I moved out of Cranston over a year ago and I have to say, moving out of Cranston is the single BEST decision I have made in a long time.

Those who see my posts know what I'm saying.....Cranston is the NEW Providence...Make no mistake about it !!!! Quickly becoming a human trash dump.....that's what happens when you have certain cultures moving in.....and for those who I offend by saying that...Too freakin bad !!!!!!! You have a Mayor who could care less as he runs for Governor.....Cops worrying about Union contracts and pensions and taking it out on illegal parking......nice real nice.....Cranston / Providence...one in the same....

I totally agree with Bob and Heather. My neighborhood has been a problem for years now. I attribute it to slum landlords who are only out for money! I have had an abandoned house next door to me for three years, no one knows what conglomerate bank owns it, and the bank is not interested in doing anything about it. As a result, my property's value has significantly declined. I can't get decent money for my house. I feel like the good people of this city have been forgotten in lieu of money and power!

Too many scum JWU students invading Edgewood. They throw parties and invite people that scream through the neighborhood all night, all hours. Hi, I OWN my house thanks...you can go rent your apartment in south providence if you can't have respect for the neighbors. On the robbery part, I think stores/banks policies need to be along the lines of "we shoot first ask questions later". Morons might actually think twice about robbing places.

Bob.... Freakin move, move out of Cranston and quit your complaining. All you do is whine and complain.. do something about it, run for office. All you do is tell what you think needs to be done, like you have all the answers.. run for mayor, city council, neighborhood watch captain, something . I suggest you attend the citizens police academy, I did , what an eye opener. DO SOMETHING OTHER THEN COMPLAIN...... THATS ALL YOU DO

Frank....left wing liberal lightweight....Your part of the problem....you don't like what I say...don't read it...seems most agree with ME and not YOU....idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geez Bob, that response was kind of on the elementary school, childish level. The only thing missing from it is you saying, "I'm rubber your glue...................." You blame everything on everyone else a true mal content and with you saying that more people agree with you is probably true because it's the same group of about 6 fellow mal contents I keep seeing. For you to say I'm part of the problem, not really sure what you mean unless you have some supporting facts that shows that I am actually PART of the problem. It's the world we live in BOB this crap happens everywhere not just Providence and Cranston but I find it hard pressed to worry about things that are out of my control. I can't stop someone from robbing a store. Now for the name calling......juvenile.
