The man wanted for robbing a bank in Cranston last week is reportedly behind bars in Vermont after he was arrested for robbing a People's United Bank.
The Associated Press reported that Joseph G. Petrarca robbed the Vermont bank earlier this week. He walked into the bank wearing a red hat, taped-on mustache and a wig with long blond hair.
He was seen fleeing the scene in a pickup truck driven by another man, identified as John Fenley Jr., of Hartford.
Police said Petrarca walked into a Mascoma Savings Bank branch in a disguise but left without robbing it.
He is believed to be the same man who robbed the Oaklawn Avenue Washington Trust. That robbery was one of the two Washington Trust branches robbed in Cranston last week.
