Tiverton Man Arrested on Third Domestic Assault Charge

The following reports were supplied by the Tiverton Police Department. Arrests do not necessarily indicate convictions.

arrested Robert C. Leeming, 36, of 90 Charles Drive Apt. 3, Tiverton on Aug. 16 at 10:25 p.m. and charged him with domestic felony assault - his third such offense.

According to reports, police responded to Leeming's condominium for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon their arrival police spoke with the apparent victim, a 34-year-old woman with who Leeming has a four-year-old child. The victim alleged Leeming put his hands around her neck and shoulders, choked her to the point of unconsciousness, and screamed he would kill her before he slammed her on kitchen floor and left on foot. This all allegedly took place in front of the pair's child.

Based on the victim's report, Leeming was charged with felony domestic assault and violation of an active no contact order. He was held without bail and arraigned on the charges the next day.

According to Rhode Island state court records, Leeming has been convicted of five past domestic-related charges ranging from assault to vandalism to domestic disorderly conduct. Other past convictions include driving under the influence and five theft-related charges.

Well, you are probably right, T1 has nothing of that nature amongst them, so in order to counteract TCC they should sign this guy.

TIVERTON ARREST IS A NEVER ENDING STORY, KNOWING ROBERT LEEMING AND THE SO CALLED VICTIM. THE VICTIM WAS TO BE EVICTED ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2012. SHE IS EXTREMELY MENTALLY UNSTABLE, MANIPULATIVE AND HAS A SERIOUS ALCOHOL PROBLEM. AFTER SHE DRANK A BOTTLE OF WHITE WINE CONTACTED MR. LEEMING. A NCO WAS IN PLACE WHICH IS HOW SHE GET'S AWAY WITH THIS PATTERN OF PHYSICALLY ABUSING AND CONTROLLING HER BOYFRIEND'S. SHE ONCE AGAIN BECKONS FOR MR. LEEMING TO COME OVER BECAUSE SHE IS LONELY AND NEEDS HIM. MR LEEMING AFTER HEARING THIS MAKES A POOR DECISION TO SEE HIS LONG TIME GIRLFRIEND ALTHOUGH THERE IS A NCO IN PLACE. AS USUAL SHE IS SAD AND HE FALL'S FOR HER "TRAP." SHE BEING INTOXICATED HAD PROBABLY BEEN THINKING OF BEING EVICTED AND IS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO LASH OUT AT. BEING EVICTED 3X IN THE PAST YEAR HAS TO BE FRUSTRATING, OF COURSE SHE WILL CALL SOMEONE SHE CAN CONTROL. AFTER ALL HE LOVES HER AND WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR HER. KNOWING MR. LEEMING HAS A RECORD AND THERE IS A NCO IN PLACE. SHE CLAIMS SHE IS CHOKED TO BEING ALMOST UNCONSCIOUS, BUT THERE ARE NO MARKS AROUND HER NECK OR ANYWHERE ELSE...STRANGE. WHY DOES SOMEONE CALL A PERSON THEY HAVE A NCO ON? ISN'T SHE AFRAID OF HIM? NO, SHE HAS A PLAN AND MR. LEEMING WILL SUFFER....IS THIS JUSTICE ??? PERHAPS SHE SHOULD BE HELD SOMEWHAT RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTACTING AN INDIVIDUAL SHE HAS AN ACTIVE NCO ON. IT SEEMS THERE IS A LARGE PIECE MISSING TO THE STORY OF WHAT REALLY HAPPENED THAT NIGHT BETWEEN THESE TWO INDIVIDUALS .......
