Councilman Archetto Announces He'll Run Again

Cranston City Councilman Paul Archetto will run for a third term on the City Council.

Ward 3 City Councilman Paul Archetto announced he will be running to keep his seat for a third term.

Archetto, chairman of the Finance Committee, handed printed copies of his announcement before the start of tonight's City Council meeting.

Archetto said he is "proud of his last two years of accomplishments on the City Council" including a precedent-setting agreement between the city and Johnson and Wales University for $150,000 payments in lieu of taxes.

He touted his "pro-business" record, including support of the expansion of in Garden City and at ., a local manufacturer that is in the midst of a major expansion.

On the Finance Committee, Archetto said they "held the line on taxes" and there was no tax increase in next year's budget.

Last but not least, Archetto noted he was "instrumental" in getting Gansett Avenue paved. The street is is a busy thru-way that connects Park Avenue and Cranston Street, passing by and the

"If elected, I will continue to bring effective, responsive and caring government to the citizens of Cranston," Archetto said.
