Fung to Head R.I League of Cities and Towns

The Cranston mayor will be the new president of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns.

Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung will be the new president of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns.

The organization represents cities and towns. It is a private, non-partisan membership association representing the interests of municipal officials and to "provide them services which enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of city and town services," according to its website.

Fung will be formally appointed at the group's annual meeting tonight at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick.

He will replace Diane Mederos, Bristol's town administrator.

How nice....really nice....apparently all of Cranston's problems are solved and he can now take on demanding extra activities...mmm seems I read last week he was just in the news saying..."we are not Central Falls or Providence, but we can be there quickly in terms of financial ruin...." Wow I guess that don't matter....see folks this is what happens when you have candidates run unopposed.....
