POLL: VP Biden's Memo Misspells 'Rhode Island' — Forgivable?

Vote in our poll and sound off in the comments.

Critics and supporters alike were taken aback Tuesday when a White House memo describing Vice President Joe Biden's travels this week mentioned an upcoming visit to New England.

According to Tuesday's Washington Post article, an advisory from Biden's White House office states that the vice president plans to go to Boston, Manchester and then "Providence Road Island" on Thursday to attend campaign events.

Does this oversight upset you or will you add it to the "No one knows anything about Rhode Island" file? You know, the one that says RI is part of New York? Vote and tell us in the comments.

I'm not saying that Biden doesn't have a certain reputation. He does and I sigh every time something silly comes out from him directly, as I do with anyone. However, it should be pointed out that this country has shown tolerance and even preference to "down home" behaviors over what is perceived as lofty and educated speech in the past. The favorable opinion of Bush Jr's demeanor has shown us that. Is it ok? No. All I'm saying is to a) put blame where it belongs, b) be fair in judgement about the same issues regardless of which side of the aisle someone is on, and c) judge a bit more on important actions than frivolous words.

agree, parents make good school districts more than anything else. If you don't like your public school move to a town where parents are educated and engaged.

Not enough. It's inexcusable for anyone who graduated from grammar school to misspell a state name. Especially when the state is 1) the smallest, 2) one of the original 13 colonies, and 3) is not part of New York.
