Sold! 11 Houses in Cranston Last Week

Cold weather, threats of snow and holiday downtime didn't stop the Cranston residential real estate market from steaming ahead last week.

Eleven properties changed hands last week and along with the virtual disappearance of foreclosures and short sales from the market, it's noteworthy that a number of houses sold at or above asking price.

There was just one short sale last week — 145 Villa Way, which went for $115,000 with an asking price of $119,900.

And consider the two new constructions that sold in the mid- to high-$200s. 9 Midvale Road sold for $280,000 with an asking price of $279,000 and at about 1,700 square feet, it's a relatively modest home for the price.
