Edgewood Eagle Cheerleaders Dominate at RISMA Championship

The Edgewood Eagles cleaned up at the RISMA Conference 2011, garnering three first place and one second place award. Additionally, the Jr. Midgets and Midgets were grand champs, scoring highest in their age group.

The Edgewood Eagles dominated the recent Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts Conference 2011 Cheerleading and Dance Championships.

The Oct. 22 event featured 12 New England Pop Warner organizations and 33 teams in all.

Here’s how they placed:

  • Edgewood Jr PeeWees (1st place) Medium Novice Division
  • Edgewood Jr Midgets (1 st place) Medium Novice Division and Jr Midget GRAND CHAMPIONS! (grand champs = highest score in their age group)
  • Edgewood PeeWee Medium Novice (2nd place)
  • Edgewood Midgets (1st place) Medium Novice Division and Midget GRAND CHAMPIONS! (grand champs = highest score in their age group!)

The PeeWees wore black bows with a pink heart and the initials AMS in honor of former squad member Alexis, who died in a car accident. The Jr. Midget cheerleaders wore yellow bows to honor those in the military and had a freedom theme to their routine. And the Edgewood Midget wore purple and silver.

The Jr. PeeWees wore black bows with a pink heart and the initials AMS in honor of former squad member Alexis, who died in a car accident---It was actually PeeWee who wore those bows, my daughter is on that team
