Three high school students in Cranston were recognized for showing leadership and making positive differences in their schools and communities on Monday at a State House ceremony.

Pictured are Aria Procaccini of Cranston Area Career and Technical Center; Nicholas James of Cranston West and Mary Duhon of Cranston East.

The recognition is part of the Lt. Governor's annual Leadership Awards Program, which began in 1993.

Each high school in the state chooses one student that "best embodies the qualities of a student leader," Roberts said. 

That leadership comes in conjunction with a dedication to school, learning and community service.
