Bolts Take Two Wins at Injury Fund, Beat Coventry, EWG

The Cranston East Thunderbolts started started their season in dominating fashion, handily defeating Exeter-West Greenwich 35-0 and handing the the Coventry Oakers a 43-33 loss in injury fund play this past weekend.

In the first game against EWG, East got on the board first with an Alex Corvese touchdown run. Corvese also threw a touchdown pass to Marven Beauvais and Marquem Monroe returned a kick for a touch down.

No team scored in the second half.

In the second game, the Thunderbolts took the lead in the first quarter on a 30-yard Corvese pass to Marven Beauvais with 8 minutes left in the first quarter and held on to the lead for the entire game. 

Two minutes after the first touchdown, Corvese threw an 85-yard pass to Marquem Monroe for another TD.

Corvese and Beauvais continued to show their passing prowess, throwing two touchdown passes in the second quarter. Jimmy Saab also caught a 65-yard pass in the third quarter.

The Thunderbolts face off against Toll Gate next week.
