CLCF Chiefs Impress at Regional Championships

The CLCF 4th graders are regional champs and the 6th graders came close to victory but shined nonetheless at the New England Regional Championships on Nov. 25.

If there's a group of boys who deserve a pat on the back, it's the players on the CLCF Chiefs football teams.

The 4th graders beat the Hartford Wildcats 25-24 in a nail-biting, double overtime win at the 2012 New England Regional Championships on Nov. 25 at Brown University in Providence. It was described as "one of the most exciting games regional play has seen in a long time," according to the CLCF Football Web site.

The 6th graders lost against the Monroe Lions 34-0 — a dissapointment, for sure, but after an incredible undefeated season, it's hard for the boys, their coaches and parents to be overly upset.

The loss to the lions "ended their undefeated streak and brought to a close one of the most amazing seasons of comeback and overtime wins in CLCF football history," the Web site states.
