Cranston Skater Wins Bronze in NHK Trophy

Marissa Castelli, of Cranston, along with her partner Simon Shnapir of Sudbury, Mass., won bronze at the NHK Trophy in Japan.

A Cranston figure skater secured a bronze medal at the NHK Trophy in Japan last week and she and her partner are now heading to the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Nebraska in January.

Marissa Castelli, of Cranston and her partner, Simon Shnapir, of Sudbury, Mass., are part of the Skating Club of Boston and they scored 174.51 points to finish third in the NHK Trophy. It's their first Grand Prix Series medal.
