Police Investigating Fight at Cranston Stadium

Cranston Police are investigating after a fight broke out at the East-West senior game at Cranston Stadium on Saturday.

Police confirmed they're looking into the circumstances surrounding the fracas, which broke out towards during the Rhode Island Football Coaches Association East-West Senior game.

The fight involved numerous players and forced officials to call the game before it was over.

Steve Stoehr, the former president of the association, said it was disappointing to see the activity on the field get so ugly.

"It doesn't look good for the association," he told NBC10. "I am very disappointed something like that takes place. I think coaches should be able to control that."

Police said they weren't told in advance that there would be a game on Saturday. Capt. Gerard Carnevale said police are looking into that as well.
