Two More State Championships for CLCF Teams

CLCF Baseball captured two more state titles this week.

Steve Richard of CLCF sent us the following:

CLCF Baseball captured two more State Cal Ripken Titles this week.  On Tuesday, our 9 year old team won its State Title with a convincing 12-1 win over West Warwick.  Tonight, our 11 year old team capped off an absolutely dominating performance in winning the Cal Ripken State Championship.   In their tournament, the 11s known as the Cranston Crushers Crushers outscored their opponents 46-6 and capped of the title run with a 10-0 win over West Warwick in 4 innings.   Drew Spirito pitched 4 shutout innings and hit a 2-run homer.  Ryan Reinsant, Andre Solis and the entire lineup were on the bases all night with base hits, including several doubles. The 11s play in the Rehoboth Summer Slam this weekend to warm up for the New England Cal Ripken Regionals the following weekend in Norton, Massachusetts.

To cap of the past two days, our 12 year old State Champions have advanced to the championship round of the New England Cal Ripken Tournament with a 5-3 win tonight over Western Massachusetts champion Marlborough.  Logan Pacheco hit a two-run walk off home run to put our State Champions into the championship round.  They'll play Burlington on Thursday for the New England championship and a chance to advance to the Cal Ripken World Series.  This has been an absolutely phenomenal run by as gutsy and determined a group of young men that we've ever seen in CLCF Baseball.  We're so proud of the entire coaching staff led by Manager Frank DiLanna and the 12 boys who are finishing their careers in CLCF Baseball in a truly triumphant manner.  Many of these players have been in our program going back 9 years when they first joined our instructional division at age 4.
