Mayor Becomes Scooper to Benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation

Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung donned an apron and grabbed an ice cream scoop Tuesday night as part of what has been billed as "the World's Largest Ice Cream Social" to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Cranston's own Mayor Allan W. Fung took on a new job last night as an ice cream scooper at the Chapel View Cold Stone Creamery.

It was part of a month-long fundraising celebration put on by Cold Stone Creamery locations to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Throughout September, the ice cream shops are selling paper wish stars for $1 each. It all lead up to what was billed as "the World's Largest Ice Cream Social" on Sept. 27.
