Your Guide: Theatre 82 Shows

Ghost of Vigoda play in Cranston on Aug. 10, while Gary Hopp hosts jam sessions on Aug. 16 and 17.

When you hear the term "jam band," most likely you think of the Grateful Dead and Phish — and you'll hear nods to them and other free-flow outfits on Saturday night as Theatre 82 hosts The Ghost of Vigoda, an indie band out of Massachusetts.

According to the group's Facebook page, "Thanks to the marvels of a little site called Craigslist, the stars from above began to perfectly align," bringing guitarist Matt Cuddy, singer/acoustic guitarist Everett McKee, and keyboardist Max Bouzinov together.

And if you're a little out of practice with how a jam band sounds, be sure to check out The Ghost of Vigoda's album and performance archive online.

Tickets for Saturday's performance are $7 online in advance and $10 at the door. Show starts at 9 p.m.

Next weekend, there's another kind of jam going on, as Gary Hopp hosts musicians and music lovers for "a casual yet energetic gathering" on Aug. 16 and 17 at 8 p.m.

Open to all ages. $5 at the door.
