Holiday Showcase!

Looking for a great way to feel the spirit of our community?

I invite you to Thursday evening’s “Holiday Showcase” at Hugh B. Bain Middle School. There you will see first-hand the efforts of the dozens of young teens who take part in the Pastore Community Center’s afterschool program.

From cooking demonstrations by the Teen Chefs Program to an original play by the Park Avenue Players, these kids will knock your socks off and tug at your heartstrings.

There is a musical group – using instruments that have all been donated by community members – and a documentary film crew who went to the Cedar Crest Nursing Home to interview the residents and create a film from their experiences. You might meet a youngster who has passed Lifespan’s Safe Sitter course, a triathlete in training, or a participant in the Mentors in Violence Prevention program. You are guaranteed a delightful evening.

The Holiday Showcase will take place in the Bain Auditorium, 135 Gansett Ave. on Thursday, December 12 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The performances will start at 6:30.
