If the industry does it, that's fine. When the government dictates it, that's not fine.

Simple solution: Don't eat this food!, it's horrible what it does to your body!
cardiclash July 2, 2014 at 02:08 pm
If you dont like the sodium/fat/ calorie content in foods then don't eat them. It is totally yourRead More choice. People should also abstain from smoking nasty cigarettes as they cause an array of severe health concerns. What they do to your body is just as bad as crappy food!

I like DD coffee. I don't buy it often but when I do I really enjoy it. It is not their fault aboutRead More the crops. I will still buy their coffee, I love their coffee!
Frank Mulligan July 7, 2014 at 06:44 pm
I love DD coffee. The price goes up. I boycott. I can make my OWN. The price's are to HIGH NOW. BeRead More wise MAKE your OWN.

Just remember...Fung DID NOT create those jobs...Wendy's did....
Steven r June 8, 2014 at 07:57 am
Why would anyone complain about a new business and jobs for this state, after CVS or Walgreen'sRead More bought out the Wendy's I used to go to, a long time ago. What does Fung have to do with this? People just like to complain.
Becca June 9, 2014 at 06:07 am
I'd like to know how they got a drive thru? Just another accident waiting to happen like ReservoirRead More Ave. isn't busy enough! BK has been denied one for years on Phenix Ave. no difference if you ask me!

Do we know that the real spelling is d-o-u-g-h-n-u-t-s ? "Doughnuts!!" Nonetheless, weRead More love'em anyway.
Carole Soule June 7, 2014 at 08:16 am
While I love DD coffee I was hard pressed to choose a free doughnut. The one I did choose made meRead More gag. Cider donuts, made by Chichester Country Store, are the answer.

i didn't know they used artificial additives in the past. now i feel violated. i also didn't knowRead More they used gmo ingredients. they could really have changed things for the better by shunning both. would have likely contributed to large increases in sales that more than outweighed the extra expense. instead, this attempt at a publicity stunt is probably going to do a lot more harm than good. i won't go there for food until they're certified non-gmo.
Bill the 1st June 3, 2014 at 05:52 pm
FYI, there's no such thing as "certified non-GMO." It's an almost 100% certainty thatRead More there are GMO genetics in all soy, most corn and a good portion of wheat and rice. I suppose you could make bread products with barley for gluten and artisan grains (amaranth, spelt, etc) for filler. At this point, GMOs are unavoudable. Just accept your chemical manufacturing overlords and be done with it.

George: Great job on the stats, but for the most part FPR is right. 15/hr sounds good in theory,Read More but everyone knows it can't be substained. The passed on cost will go to the customer. As previous comments mentioned, I'm not paying $10 for a #1 at McDonalds. Previous examples are something like the increase in food goods as the cost of transporting these goods increased do to fuel prices rising. I know for myself or my wife, we would not be buying anything so overpriced. Times that by hundreds or thousands of customers and you have businesses hurting and struggling to keep afloat. All do to a knee jerk, feel good government overreach.
Derek Duchemin May 29, 2014 at 09:19 am
I'm sorry to say Rhode Island would never be able to get the min wage to $15hr because no businessRead More would be able to afford it, they would all go bankrupt knowing Rhode Islands economy its just not feasible.
Sharon Ellery May 30, 2014 at 09:03 pm
Since the minimum wage is $8.00/hr, the taxpayers of Rhode Island are paying for medical, housingRead More and food assistance for workers earning minimum wage. At $15.00 per hour Rhode Island taxpayers would save millions of dollars and workers would gain independence. Not raising minimum wage keep people on assistance. For instance, Stop & Shop and McDonald's would not go bankrupt. A better solution would include raising minimum wage to $15.00 and keeping businesses afloat. Better workers would bring more customers.

I liked it, but I also knew that it would be nowhere as sweet as Del's. If you want malt-liquor,Read More drink Mike's hard. It's definitely still a beer.

Gotta love this positive RI energy. Jeez...it's one of the very few businesses in this state that'sRead More actually growing but you wouldn't know it from all the whiners here.
Becca May 25, 2014 at 09:08 am
@Vinnie B she sure will. They are the worse company to work for! Mistreats her people & if theRead More public was smart they wouldn't buy her "junk" jlry

And what do they do again ? Jewelry and lifestyle ? Can they help my golf game not to be frivolousRead More about their "core" business.
Andie May 21, 2014 at 07:48 am
Oh Pleasee. Back when we grew up this would of never been a big deal. Now it's news?? No wonder weRead More have so many sensitive kids these days. Parents being outraged over a box with teeth. Let the kids decide if they like it. I bet their opinions are different. Stop telling them that it's scary and they won't think so.

Growing more concerned by the day! May 16, 2014 at 07:12 am
Why just CVS? Rite Aid, Walgreens, Walmart, Target and other have retail clinics and should beRead More afforded the same opportunity to open clinics in the state. RI consumers will benefit greatly by more competition. DR. Fine also needs to look at opening up the Health insurance market to more providers than just United Health, Tufts and BCBSRI.... again more competition will mean lower rates for RI'ers and more people able to afford health insurance.
Elizabeth Roy May 16, 2014 at 07:53 am
Rite Aid and Walgreens should be able to do the same. They may not wish too; however, I smellRead More another backroom deal.
Jeff Crawford May 16, 2014 at 01:18 pm
And I'll bet their going to be able to take in and store all of your health care information andRead More your families information. I wonder how much money the State of Rhode Island is paying to CVS Caremark to manage the prescription program.

Good to see Rhode island among other blue states to lead the way. There is still room forRead More improvement and let us make our state #1. The graph pretty much sums up how sexist the republican party has become.
nagaer May 8, 2014 at 07:06 pm
We are all tired of the democrat party line talking points. The war on women, the war on minoritiesRead More and on and on. What really matters are jobs, education, infrastructure, taxes. The democrat party has failed us miserably in RI on all of these important issues. Yet, the Aspir7n's of the world apparently don't pay attention to these important topics and will vote every one of the people responsible for these failures back in back into office. You have a neighbor who can't find a job, but gays can get married now, hope you're happy Aspir7n. Talk about not seeing the big picture.
