b.good to Offer Real Food Fast, Hand Cut Fries, in New Garden City Store

Ever dream of a fast food restaurant that serves burgers and fries that are made by people, not machines? That's what b.good, opening this month, is offering.

Are you ready to be good, Cranston?

Or, shall we say, b.good?

At least, be ready to eat, because the growing franchise will soon be opening its doors to its newest location in Garden City Center.

b.good's slogan is real.food.fast and its menu keeps it real with burgers and fries in addition to kale and quinoa bowls. And if you don't know how to pronounce it, it's Keen-WAH. See? We've spared you the embarrassment on your first visit.

You can get a smoothie or shake, a salad or a chicken sandwich and everything is made to order and the food is from scratch, the fries are hand cut.

b.good is the brainchild of two best friends who grew up eating in their uncle's kitchen, according to their Web site. They started the business when they wanted to offer fast food with a twist: "making it the way it should be . . .by people not factories."

The first b.good opened on Dartmouth Street in Boston in 2003. There are now 12 b.goods with two more on the way, including the Cranston location. The small chain now has shops in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island in addition to its home state, Massachusetts.

The shop has been posting photos of its construction progress on its Facebook page.

It should open sometime soon in April.
