After Psychic Readings on State Time, Four Corrections Dept. Workers Put on Leave
RI Dept. of Corrections chief A.T. Wall announced four employees have been put on administrative leave during an internal investigation.
An alleged psychic reading that occurred behind the walls of the state prison with employees on the clock has resulted in four people being put on administrative leave during an internal investigation, Rhode Island Department of Corrections Director A.T. Wall announced Tuesday.
"This matter has become a distraction to the work of this agency," Wall said. "My first responsibility is to the public and to running the Department of Corrections."
Wall said an internal investigation was launched earlier this year after reports that a correctional officer was called in after her overnight shift and asked to do a psychic reading.
NBC10 reported that the employee, Heather Anderson, at first thought she was in trouble and that's why she was being called in. But, Anderson, who calls herself "The Mystical Medium" according to her Web site, was asked to perform psychic readings which reportedly lasted for two hours.
The readings were reportedly attended by several top corrections department officials.
